Selfies through History

I think it’s really interesting how there’s always been what seems to be an innate desire to see oneself and capture one’s own image, whether that’s via portraits or self-portraits, early photography (which came at the price of a burnt carpet and standing completely still for up to five minutes), or what would become known as the selfie after many years of technological evolution. People often say that those who take selfies are usually vain or self-absorbed millenials, but the selfie isn’t a new concept; as we learned the other day, the idea of a selfie existed hundreds of years before the iPhone or self-timing camera came to be.
